“Another
Aussie failed State”, a post in the blog Living Timorously
(reported by J. Patrick Fischer, 08 Apr 2007),
shows the East Timorese national flag with the Southern
Cross in Australian-style instead of the usual single
five-pointed star. Though the text mentions a 1974-1975 party ADITLA
— Associação Democrática para a Integração de Timor Leste na
Austrália (Democratic Association for the Integration of East Timor
into Australia), this is surely not its flag: The current national flag was
designed in late 1975 and was then (and long till
1999 and even later) perceived as the flag of a
Fretilin-sponsored state project, not the
East Timorese flag. (See alternatives.)
